Yes, a personal visit to the bank is required to open a bank account in Canada.
Registration of an Ontario LP takes 1 to 2 business days. The bank takes 1 to 2 weeks to review your application, once accepted; we will schedule a personal visit to the bank where your account will be opened at the time of the meeting.
There is no minimum balance or initial deposit required, however we recommend keeping a small amount in the account for any bank fees, depending on the type of business bank account you decide to open.
Once the account is opened, the bank will issue you a debit card to use where payment is taken from your bank account directly. You will be able to apply for Visa or MasterCard credit card; however the bank may request a security deposit based on the fact that you do not have residency in Canada. The bank account will also be provided with 24/7 access to online banking where you will be able access your balance, transfer payments, and issue wire transfers to other accounts.
